oh-oh-nineteen! :)

nagkita ulit kami ni leziel after exactly ten months since nung huli naming pagkikita. the last time we saw each other was last february 19, 2011 which was our post-valentine date sa sm santa rosa.

then last december 19, 2011 which was last monday, kami'y nagkita ulit (of course with the help of patrick and bok).

magkatext na kami nung umaga pa. she asked kung tuloy ba then i said yes. ayun, text-text lang kami hanggang papunta na kaming festi ng 1pm. ang meeting place namin was the festival movies sa 4th floor ng mall. siya yung nauna dun then sumunod ako. pag-akyat ko dun, ayun na. :)

kamustahan, ganyan-ganyan. then inaantay namin sila pat at bok (na feeling ko nandun na pero nag-aala-big brother na binabantayan kami). nagpicture muna kami. here's the picture:

nag-stroll muna kami sa 3rd floor nang nagtext sila na asan kami. then we're back at nakita naming nagtatago sila. hahahaha.

we did our purpose there, para sa CORNDOG! haha. ayun, matagal na kasing gusto ni leziel na makatikim nun (long story) then ayun, bumaba na kami sa shopwise (mula 4th floor hanggang sa ground floor). buti na lang at alam ni leziel who was our tour guide for that day kung saan makakabili nun.

then we reached the place. we ordered and nilibre ko siya, hehe.

then nagkayayaan namang magstarbucks. si leziel pa rin ang aming tour guide, hehe. narating namin yung place.

it's her first time palang mag-starbucks (ngayon ko lang nalaman). pero pareho kami ng in-order which is peppermint mocha.

peppermint mocha ko, nainuman ko na talaga siya kaya bawas na. :))

then gusto niyang magpapicture ng solo, haha. kaya pinicturan ko siya. :)

ayieee, first time niyang mag-starbucks. with her peppermint mocha. :)

then ayun, kwentuhan, picturan, asaran. ang tagal naming tumambay dun. after almost an hour i guess, nagpunta naman kaming powerbooks (request ko) then sa clippers (request ng kasama namin). habang nasa clippers, i suddenly remembered that i should prepare my surprise. kaya yun, nag-national bookstore muna ako, leaving them for a while. i bought a book kasi kaya nagpunta ako dun then patrick texted me na nasa xsite na sila. i wrote a message for her then i went up na.

nagkita ulit kami sa xsite. iniwan muna kami nila patrick at bok then binigay ko na sa kanya si surprise (long story). she was really surprised. i gave her a teddy bear and a necklace (sayang, hindi ko napicturan bago ko ibigay sa kanya, wew). well, she did thank me nang sobrang dami and i was really really tensed and at the same time happy that she liked my gift. ayieee, kilig much! HAHA. :">

tapos ayun, gala-gala lang dun and we decided na sumakay sa bump car. grabe lang ang bump car dun, intense kung magbabanggan dahil sa lakas ng impact. hahaha. ilang beses ko rin siyang binangga, hehe. ang saya-saya namin that time (para lang kaming mga bata nun). :)) after ng ride, patrick took a picture of us. :)

right after nun, nagpunta naman kaming comic alley. habang namimili sila patrick at bok, naalala kong may inutos pa sakin si mama nun na mamili ng mga regalo for the christmas party. nagpasama ako sa kanya, which was okay lang naman sa kanya.

nagpunta kami sa robinson dept store. bili-bili ng pwedeng mabili. i'm glad na kasama ko siya since most of the gifts ay pambabae and siya yung kasama ko para matulungan ako. hanap dito, hanap doon. then natapos din. hanggang sa pila ay magkasama kami. nagsorry din ako kasi ang haba ng pila sa cashier at nakakahiya sa kanya and she said okay lang naman sa kanya yun. 

right after, we decided to leave na since mga 5:30pm na rin yun. sumabay ako sa kanya since gusto ko pa siyang makasama. ayun, hanggang sa biyahe papuntang san pedro magkasama kami. kwentuhan with her and her informatics batchmates na nakasabay din namin sa jeep.

at dun na nagtatapos ang aming oh-oh-nineteen date. after ten months, date ulit. nakakatuwa lang, hehe. sana next time, on the next level na kami. i'm looking forward to that to happen. :"> end.

Himala - My SS017 Term Paper

Himala

The highest-grossing movie in the 1980s Himala is a 1982 Ishmael Bernal box-office-hit film that starred the “Superstar in Philippine Entertainment Industry” Nora Aunor, who portrayed the character role as the “miraculous” Elsa. The movie revolves around the story of Elsa who proclaimed that she was seeing the appearances of the Virgin Mary, thus making her an instant hit and most-talked-about girl in the God-forsaken town called Cupang. This film shows how Filipinos tend to believe that there are miracles happening and made them hypnotized by her. Himala also depicts how religious or not the people of Cupang in terms of how devoted they are to the Virgin Mary.

The story started with a scene when there was a sudden solar eclipse in a local town and people-professed cursed drought land called Cupang. Some villagers predicted that it was the end of the world and some of them started praying. Elsa, a young lady who also witnessed the eclipse from the gloomy town, went to the deserted hill to pray. While she was praying, a light glowed; and she apparently proclaimed that the Virgin Mary had appeared to her. Then she told to her adoptive mother and even the local priest the story about the said “appearance” of Mary. She then formed an alliance with some of her friends Chayong, Sepa, and Mrs. Alba and called themselves as the apostles of Elsa. Elsa, together with her apostles, started her healing mission in their place and healed the local villagers. The news about the miraculous healing of Elsa was spread around and people from different places, including the tourists, visited the deserted town to be cured from their sicknesses.

Conflicts among the characters started when the characters of Orly and Nimia were introduced. The curious Orly, an aspiring filmmaker, arrived at Cupang to gather information from Elsa’s closest friends for him to produce a documentary about the miraculous life of Elsa. Nimia on the other hand, a balikbayan prostitute and one of Elsa’s childhood friends, went back to Cupang to establish a cabaret or nightclub house for the tourists. Later on, these conflicts had even got worse when the apostles of Elsa forcibly closed the cabaret. Nimia confronted Elsa, blaming her for the business closure. This was the scene where Nimia reversed the situation and told Elsa that she was the one who was sick and not the people who were her followers. Another conflict that worsened the story was when Orly witnessed and documented Elsa and Chayong were being raped by two high-on-drug men on the barren hill. Orly then confessed to the priest, though he was not Catholic, the incident on the hill. This was a scene where Orly faced his conscience and tried to forget for a while his desire to use the clip for Elsa’s real-life documentary.

Worst conflicts happened on the story and one of them was the cholera outbreak that caused many townspeople in Cupang got poisoned and killed. Chayong, who was saving her virginity before she got married, took her life by hanging herself because of the rape incident on the barren hill. Elsa blamed herself in all of the bad incidents happened to other people, thus concluding her healing mission. Her pregnancy from the rape (the people thought that she was the new “Immaculate Conception” due to her having of a child without a father) and at the same time an instant once-in-a-while heavy rain in their town once again regained the beliefs of the Cupang people in miracles and believed that the curse had left the town.

The confession of Elsa to the public on the barren hill brought a strong impact to everyone, thus served as the climax on the film. Elsa finally confessed that there were no miracles but these were in the hearts of each of the townspeople in Cupang. The denouement then followed when Elsa was shot in the middle her speech. The chaotic people then ran in panic and this led to stampede that killed several innocent people including the children. In the end, Elsa died in her adoptive mother’s hands. Sepa, her friend, announced that she was a saint. Then the people on the barren hill started praying to the Virgin Mary for the soul of Elsa to rest in peace.

The “appearance” of the Virgin Mary to Elsa made a great impact in Cupang. Why? This made the character of Elsa changed from being ordinary barrio lass to famous faith healer. Elsa brought a lot of changes and a collective hysteria to the people in their town. In terms of the people’s religious faith, the people tend to believe that Elsa was the Cupang’s “Virgin Mary” and somewhat served her as their god (the scene showing “Elsa loves you” served as a proof.) This highest-grossing movie was one of the best films ever made because it talked about the religious beliefs of the people to the Virgin Mary, since many of the Filipinos were devoted Catholics. It proved that people must claim to themselves that there are no miracles but they do happen in their hearts.

then we three all agreed since holiday naman kinabukasan nun. then naisip namin na isama rin namin sila nala, nok at migs. so i posted on our sptsbxsu group wall nito:

kinabukasan, umaga pa lang magkachat na kami nila nala and nagcomment siya sa post ko (as seen above). we were asking kung pwede sila (kasi alam ko namang hindi sila papayagan). nag-isip na kami ng mga palusot na pwedeng sabihin niya sa parents niya. then chat-chat lang talaga, at nakachat na rin namin sila julia at nok. nagpipilitan kaming makasama ang lahat. in the end, natuloy kami gawa nang pinayagan sila ng dad/tito nila.

then hapon na (bandang 2:30pm), text-text naman pagkatapos. tinetext namin sila kung nasaan na sila and vice versa. ako, si julia at mga kapatid ko ang nauna sa sm. then we saw na hindi na showing ang in time. so umakyat kami sa 2nd floor then pumuntang movietime. nagbabasakali pa rin kami na (baka) showing pa rin yun. one week na pala ang nakalipas, then ka-text ko si nala at malapit na raw sila. hinantay lang namin sila dun (kasi na-text ko na nasa movietime kami). then nasa sm na rin sila, maya-maya nagkita-kita na kami.

“ANG LAKI MO NA, MIGS!”, bukambibig namin. we were like WOW, ang lalaki na naming lahat. we really missed each other talaga. then we walked na, talking and chatting about ganito-ganyan. basta ang dami naming kwento! i guess this is the first time na gumimik kami lahat sa sm (kasi dati hanggang waltermart lang kami, haha).

tapos we decided na lumipat ng robinsons place, baka showing sa kabila yung in time. so naglakad kami papunta dun. at first parang ayaw nung iba pero no choice, haha. ayun, tuloy-tuloy pa rin ang kwentuhan at kumustahan namin. later on we reached na yung mall, at showing pa rin ang in time dun. YEY! tapos ayun, umakyat na kami sa third floor sa cinemas. then picture-picture muna. after nun, we bought tickets na for the movie. sucks lang 5:45pm yung next showing and we’re late for the 3:30pm showing. picturan lang ulit sa 3rd floor.

then kumain muna yung iba sa siomai house. yung iba nag-gulaman lang (at isa na ako dun). nagkwentuhan ulit kami ganyan-ganyan and i took pictures ulit.

then we decided to play and sing sa tom’s world. do we have a choice kahit alam kong ang panget ng tom’s world dun? (ang sama ko!) ayun, naglaro lang kami ng basketball, time crisis, at nagkaraoke lang kami. julia sang, 100 ang score. i sang, 100 ang score, siya ulit, 100 ulit. (is that machine kidding us?) nagpipicturan lang ulit kaming lahat sa loob. (we’re seven and the room is good for three people i guess.)

magfa-5:30 na nun (akalain mo yun, nakatagal kami dun) at malapit na ang next showing. bibili na sana kami ng popcorn nang naisip namin na pwede naman kaming bumili na lang sa supermarket. from third floor bumaba kami sa ground floor. nagawa pa naming magpapicture sa escalator and here’s the picture:

tapos we reached na yung supermarket. nagra-rush na kami sa paghakot ng chips and drinks. then ang haba ng pila! ilang minuto na lang, magstastart na yung movie. sabay baba ng mga pinaghahakot namin at dali-dali kaming pumunta sa mini-stop, sila levs, julia at nok ay nauna na sa taas. tapos yun, madali kami sa paghakot ng kakainin namin then we rushed upstairs. pinapalitan pa namin yung tickets namin (kasi ang bobo nung ticket seller). pumasok na sila vien at migs at nag-cr pa si nala so inantay ko pa. tapos yun, we’re the last to enter the movie house. 

nood-kain-inom lang kami sa loob ng sinehan, ang astig lang talaga ng movie. 

then natapos na yung movie. nag-enjoy kami. tapos nagpicture ulit kami ng buo:

tapos ayun, pinapauwi na talaga sila nala nun. nakatunganga pa kami sa harap ng robinsons nun, iniisip pa namin kung pupunta pa ba kaming sm. in the end, we decided to go to sm sta. rosa at 8pm na (kasi minsan na lang daw kami magkasama).

naglakad ulit kami pabalik ng sm (kaya namang lakarin). kwentuhan ulit, tapos nagstostolen pic ako sa mga kasama ko.

we reached sm! tapos pumunta kami sa butterfly garden dun. pinag-iisipan namin kung kakain kami ng dinner dun or hindi. since gutom na talaga ang lahat, kumain kami sa kfc. nakaorder na sila nala at migs ng food nila. sila julia at vien na dapat pero walang chicken steak meal. short na kami sa money e so lumipat kami ng mcdonald’s. sila levs at nok umorder ng chaofan sa chowking. chicken fillet ang inorder namin nila julia at vien. iba-iba ang pagkain namin from different fastfood chain. we ate our dinner then picture-picture pa rin. pagkatapos kumain, still have 30 minutes before the mall closes, ako, si levs at nok pumunta sa national to check some books. yung mga babae at si migs nag-department store. magna-nine na nung bumalik na kami sa meeting place namin then ang tagal ng mga kasama namin. nagkita-kita na kami sa main entrance 2 ng sm. tapos umuwi na kami. 

grabe, ang hindi planado talaga ay natutuloy! 100 percent complete kami (although wala si kia kasi nasa pasay siya and we understand that). talagang nagagawan namin ng paraan ang imposible, haha. next time ulit! ;)

i promise, after 10-25-11 tapos na ang lahat. i'll stop na. :)

cit week is over! back to normal na ulit. hayyyyyyy. :\

it's october. i'm doing a countdown.

from now on, no more "TDBRs" and no more "10:25s". :'(

hello mixed emotion day.

ang araw kong ito ay punong-puno ng iba't ibang emosyon: tuwa, saya, galak, lungkot, inis, galit, banas, kilig, hinayang, at iba pang hindi nabanggit.

grabe lang, hindi ko na madetalye lahat e. ibang yvan talaga ang kilos ko kanina, paiba-iba. hayyy. gusto ko ring sabihin lahat pero i don't know how to filter it. basta ang alam ko, may mga rebelasyong nabunyag at ayun, masyado akong naging pahalata sa nararamdaman ko. okay baka may masabi pang hindi dapat masabi sa lahat, as in L-A-H-A-T.

control, control, control...

mixed emotions talaga, don't know what to say pa. sibat na ako, aral pa sa exam bukas.

my new tropas: the beke twins

last friday, bigla na lang sumulpot sa pisngi ko yung bago kong mga tropa, si beke one at si beke two (in short, the beke twins, pero panganay si one which is si left, si two si right). ayun, hindi tuloy ako nakapasok, instead nagpacheckup na ako hanggang sa nalaman kong i'll be with them for at least a week. hayyy. grabe tong mga bagong tropa ko, masyado silang pasakit sakin.

my third day, ayun malaki na silang dalawa, i gained a pound or two nga e (dahil sa kanila). pero ngayon okay na ako, unlike the first and second day. naging bonded na agad kami, astig. pero eto talaga yung secret wish ko (hindi 'to alam ng dalawa tropa ko ha), sana mawala na sila bukas. >:) ayoko nang maging chubby face, naaalala ko lang tuloy nung intermediate years ko sa elementary, ang taba ko. oh well, napablog lang talaga, masyado nang namimiss ang mga tao, lalo na sa mcl yung mga tropa at kaibigan ko. two days na akong absent at mukhang madagdagan pa bukas o sa pangalawa.

birthday ng kapatid ko kagabi. ayun, pumunta na lang kami sa pasay para sunduin siya dun. tapos ayun, nakarating kaming resorts world manila, malapit lang sa school ng kapatid kong may birthday. gala-gala muna kaming apat sa mall. as in, ang ganda. HAHA. tapos ayun, sa kenny rogers kami kumain.

actually, that's not the topic i'm gonna share. ako, together with my earphones, ay nagsimula na namang mag-MV mode. as usual, gan lae gan ulit ang kanta, tapos saktuhan pang mall ang pinuntahan namin. so ayun, i imagined that the resorts world manila in the philippines is the siam square in thailand. nakakatuwa pa, nung nasa library ako nabasa ko sa thailand guide book yung tungkol sa siam square at the same time nakita ko yung picture, parang sa resorts world lang talaga. ayun na nga, MV mode na ako. yun nga lang, ako lang yung bida. T.T hay, sana may kasama ako sa MV trip ko, sana kasama siya. :\ emoterong tanga lang. okay, basta yun, na-share ko lang ang aking MV trip sa manila. :))

may 25 - july 19. period kung saan ayun yung leading sa chat messages ko with that person. okay, natalo na talaga gawa nang hindi na kami naguusap. :|

actually narinig ko lang yung kantang yun sa movie na crazy little thing called love (nako napaghahalataan na akong mahilig sa thai movies). ayun, di ko talaga alam kung anong ikukwento ko dito e.

"someday". that's the meaning.

kasi naman e, may kaibigan akong lagi na lang asa nang asa na balang-araw ganito ganyan. same din sa nakilala ko lang kung saan-saan. tapos ayun bigla ko lang talagang narinig yung thai song na yun kahit alam ko lang dun is yung sukwunnung talaga. :))

hmm, dahil sa mga kwento nila, napapa-someday na rin ako. someday magiging ganito ako, someday magkakaroon ako ng ganito, someday mararating ko rin ang ganito. teka, di dapat sakin ang focus ng blog na to.

bakit kaya hindi ako utak programmer? for the past two years sa pagiging it ko, hindi talaga ako nag-enjoy magprogram. hayyy. ayun, nasa half na ako ng college life ko e, wala na akong magagawa. akalain mo yun, naka-survive pa ako at still regular.

iba talaga plano ko paglaki, nahihiya akong sabihin kung ano yun. :))

at least, nakapagblog dito sa multiply ko. yun lang, sana dumating ang time na magustuhan ko ang pagiging it ko.

here's the bulleted list of what happened on the 19th of June, 2011:

• it's my birthday today, yes. :)
• before i went to bed at around 12mn, i saw my facebook notification, birthday greetings from four people.
• i woke up at exactly 6:40 in the morning. check my facebook through phone, there's 20 plus greetings from friends. i also check my twitter and there were greetings there also.
• i greeted my dad happy father's day. i also gave my gift to him from blue magic. :))
• my mom insisted me to hear the mass with them, but i wanted to go to wisdom church that time to have praise and worship. i had no choice but to come and listen to their choir thingy.
• after the mass, i decided to go home first because i was not feeling well.
• we got home, i checked again who greeted me on facebook and twitter and responded in each of the wall posts and tweets on facebook and twitter, respectively.
• after an hour, we were leaving again. we're off to sm calamba when there were visitors who suddenly came.
• less than an hour, the visitors left and we went to calamba (i really have plans to go to rizal's shrine, that's why i decided we should go to sm calamba).
• when we reached the calamba exit on slex, TRAFFIC! ><
• so we decided to go somewhere else, we went to nuvali instead. :)
• we reached nuvali, i'm not feeling well again.
• we stalled around the place, searching for restaurants for us to dine in.
• after discovering the whole nuvali, we ended up dining in reyes barbeque.
• okay, it's my first time to eat at that "fastfood". i ordered grilled liempo. :)
• the food is nice, i want to go back there some other time.
• here's our family picture:
• still, i'm not feeling well so i decided to go home right after.
• we got home, i was okay again. i checked again my facebook and twitter for birthday greetings and i responded to each of them.
• i studied hangul again, lessons 6-10 of level 2 of talk to me in korean. :)
• i watched not-for-kids funny videos on the net.
• at night, my parents arrived and brought don rogelio's pizza and baked macaroni home for our dinner. yummy!

• chatted with some of my friends on facebook.

i thank God first of all for all the things he had done for me for eighteen years and i made it this far because of him. i also like to thank my facebook and twitter friends for greeting me a happy, happy birthday and also for being a part of my life (what the heck, yvan is this really you? HAHA.). hmm, i have lots of things to say because i wanna end my blog here. :)
